Ken Johnson, CFO, began his accounting career at Hutchinson Hospital back in 1983. He returned to school for a graduate degree and took a job at Via Christi (then St. Francis) in Finance. Ken spent 9 years there with a brief stint in another healthcare facility in Alabama. Most recently, he worked at Galichia Heart Hospital. Ken returned to Hutchinson in 2011 to join the leadership team at Hutchinson Regional. In May 2011, He was named a winner of the Wichita Business Journal's CFO Awards. Ken and his wife Carolyn have two sons, Drew and Taylor.
Mike Juby, C.P.A., is board secretary/treasurer. A tax manager for an accounting firm until 2005 and CFO for Wells Enterprises until 2008, he currently is business manager for Dillon Investments. Mike believes that Hutchinson has a proud tradition of providing quality healthcare throughout the region and desires to help insure that the accomplishments of the past are continued and improved for the future. He moved to Hutchinson in 1985 with his wife, Kathy. They have 3 sons. Mike enjoys running, football and most notably, wrestling. He actually was a member of the official U.S. delegation to the 2007 World Wrestling Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, where the United States won their first and (so far) only Greco-Roman World Championship.
Kevin J. Miller, F.A.C.H.E., came to Hutchinson in July of 2011 to assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System. Kevin has worked in the field of hospital operations for 34 years, most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer at Ashtabula County Medical Center and ACMC Healthcare System, a member of the Cleveland Clinic Health System. At Ashtabula, he led a 358-bed, 2 hospital system. Prior to his 17 years as a hospital/health system president, Mr. Miller served in business development roles in both proprietary and non-profit hospital systems at both the corporate and local hospital level. Mr. Miller has attained Fellowship status with the American College of Healthcare Executives and is board-certified in healthcare management. Kevin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Records Administration from Illinois State University in 1977 and his Master of Science degree in Health Services Administration from The College of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, in 1982. He and his wife, Bev, have two children, Danielle and Adam, and are the proud grandparents of three.
James R. Gilliland, vice president of the board, is quite established in Hutchinson. Growing up in the area, he left to attend law school at KU and then returned to begin his practice with Gilliland and Hayes, where he continues to practice. James values community involvement and has previously served as president of Health Care Inc., the former parent corporation for all Hutchinson Hospital entities. He brings a wealth of experience and great interest in the mission and goals of health care in his home community. In his off-time, James is likely to be found golfing, hunting ducks and pheasants or travelling the world with his wife Karen.
Bob Fee, vice president of Fee Insurance Group, is a native of Hutchinson. He joined the family business after graduating from University of Kansas and has been involved in many professional and local community organizations during his career. Among other things, Bob enjoys golfing and participating in triathlons. He and his wife Annie have 4 children.
Marla Eriksen, vice president of human resources and marketing at Luminous Neon, has lived most of her life in Hutchinson. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Hutchinson Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas. Marla serves on the Hutchinson Community College Board of Trustees, the Hutchinson High School Alumni Association Board, the Central Kansas Chapter of the KU Alumni Association, and is an elder at her church. She has previously served on the Hutchinson Hospital board. Outside of her professional obligations, Marla enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeff, and their 3 daughters, riding her bike, reading, trying new recipes and working out at the gym.
Ken Vogel, president of the board, practiced public accounting for 29 years before retiring in 1994. He served on the hospital and Health Care, Inc. boards in the 1980s and 1990s and joined the foundation board in 2005 where his extensive financial experience has been valuable asset. Ken has lived in Hutchinson since 1965. He and his wife Glenda have 3 sons.
Jessica Lucas, director of development for Hutchinson Regional Medical Foundation, grew up in Wellington, Kansas and graduated from Kansas University. Since moving to Hutchinson and beginning her professional career in 2004, Jessica has taken an active role in the Reno County community. She presently is the membership representative for Young Professionals of Reno County, writes a community column for The Hutchinson News, helps coordinate the annual Sand Plum Bicycle Classic and Trail and Treat events, and serves on the board of directors for Cause for Paws, Inc. She was named a Kansas Health Foundation Fellow in 2010. On her free weekends, she often returns to Wellington to spend time with her grandma.
