At Hutchinson Regional Medical Center we are concerned about our patients and their families. We understand that health care expenses are often unexpected and paying for services can be overwhelming. This is especially true if you do not have health insurance.  Depending on your individual circumstances, our Charity Care Program or Discounted Care Program may be able to provide you with some level of assistance.

Charity Care Program

Charity care is available to patients who do not have the means to pay for hospital expenses and do not qualify for any government programs.

Who is eligible for financial assistance?

You may qualify for hospital financial assistance if your household income is below 150% of the federal poverty limit. Patients receiving medically necessary, non-elective, emergency, urgent inpatient or outpatient services will be considered for this program. You will be required to provide information on your household finances through a confidential Financial Application. Documentation will be requested to verify your circumstances in order to determine eligibility.

Patient Discount Program

In accordance with our Mission to deliver an exceptional experience of care for every patient and family member, Hutchinson Regional has developed a discount program to help our patients who do not have health insurance. The program provides significant discounts for uninsured patients who receive medically necessary hospital services comparable to managed care discounted rates.  This discount program is in addition to our Charity Care program for patients with income below 150 percent of the federal poverty level.

Who is eligible for the discount?

Most patients without health insurance will qualify for the discount program. The amount of the discount is determined annually. The uninsured discount does not apply to co-pays, deductibles or cost shares.
