Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) provides excellent stroke prevention for patients with carotid artery stenosis, but many patients have anatomic features or co-morbidities that increase operative risk.

As the only cardiovascular center in Kansas offering enrollment in the SAPPHIRE worldwide carotid stenting registry, we provide an option for patients who have an above-average risk for carotid endarterectomy.
